From the Academic Director

Hello, Waverly Families!

My name is Mrs. Murray and I have the privilege of serving as Waverly Academy's Academic Director for the 2021-2022 school year, alongside my teammates, Ms. Dollard and Dr. Moore.

I am originally from Miami, Florida, where I began my career in 2009, working with students with severe disabilities.  My focus at Waverly in the 2020-2021 school year was Testing and Special Education services.  This past year of virtual learning saw many unpredictable challenges for parents, students and teachers alike.

That being said, I believe that all of my career adventures have prepared me to assist Dr. Moore, Ms. Dollard, and our wonderful faculty and staff in leading our girls at Waverly towards a year of academic gains.

I look forward to collaborating with each of you, and finding new ways to achieve the power of "yet"!

See you around,

Mrs. Murray

Hello Waverly families,

My name is Ms. Manning and I have the privilege of serving as the Dean of Students and Parent Liaison for the 21-22 school year.

Since I was in elementary school, I've had the privilege of moving around the world every 3 years to a different state or country - which has forced me to be out of my comfort zone, yet accepting of the environment, culture and those around me. With that said, I maintain a high level of pride in knowing that I can accommodate students from all walks of life (backgrounds, demographics, etc.,) due to my military upbringing as a child.

A fun fact about me is that I was born in the beautiful country of Panama and I went to high school (and graduated) in Seoul, South Korea!

I look forward to being at the forefront of these pivotal moments in your scholars' education! As the Dean and parent liaison, please know that I am here to provide comfort, clarity and communication in regards to your scholars, their safety and their education. Please leave no questions unasked, as I am here to help, guide and amend your areas of concern. As your Dean, I have several resources for families that may need (or request) guidance counseling, counseling services, or support in other areas.

As a village, we are responsible for shaping our scholars, and helping them internalize decent values and morals; all while unlocking their full potential in the classroom. Together, I hope to build a strong foundation that provides a safe, supportive and encouraging environment, which in turn will allow our students to grow in their academics.

In the past, the pandemic has forced us all to work together and get through several hardships. This proves that when we work together, there is nothing we can't do! While education can be hard, difficult and challenging at times, Waverly Academy stands firm on the belief that all students can succeed.

Sincerely,

Ms. Manning
